Getting started with Novagora

Novagora is a mobile-first, follow-based community platform. You follow the people and Spaces you care about, and your home feed brings their latest posts, articles, and updates together in one place.

There are two ways to use Novagora: the mobile app for iOS and Android, and the web app in a browser. They share one account and almost all of the same features — see what differs between them.

What you can do here#

• Post and read. Short posts with photos, and long-form articles with covers, tags, and series.
• Run a community. A Space is a home for a club, a team, a class, or any group, with its own feed, roles, and rules.
• Talk. Direct messages, group chats, and Space channels.
• Organise. Events, tasks, notes, polls, and files — each one personal or owned by a Space.

Create your account#

You can sign up in the mobile app or on the web. You need an email address you can receive mail at (disposable addresses are refused), a username, a display name, your date of birth, and a password of at least 10 characters. The app asks for the password twice.

1. Open the sign-up form — Get started or Create one — it’s free on the web, Sign up in the app — and fill it in. On the web the button that sends the form is Create account.
2. Read the agreements the form links to and tick the box that confirms you accept them. An account cannot be created without them; see Terms, guidelines, and legal documents.
3. Submit the form. Novagora emails a verification link to the address you gave.
4. Open the link. Until you do, you cannot use the rest of the app.

Novagora is for people aged 16 and over. If the date of birth you enter is under 16, the account is not created.

If the verification email does not arrive, check the spam folder, then use Resend (on the web) or Resend email (in the app) on the verification screen. The button waits a minute between sends, and the link works for one hour. If you used the wrong address, see Setting up your account.

Set yourself up#

The first time you sign in, the app walks you through a short setup: your photo, bio, and timezone, the interests that shape your suggestions, a first set of people and Spaces to follow, and — on mobile — whether to allow push notifications. Every step can be skipped and changed later. See Setting up your account.
