Reporting content and getting help

How to report something, which reasons route where, what happens next, and how to reach support.

If something breaks the Community Guidelines or a Space's own rules, report it. Reports are confidential: the person you report is never told who reported them.

What you can report

A post, an article, a comment, a chat message, a poll, an event, a note, a person, or a whole Space.

The report action is on the thing itself — in the actions menu of a post or message, and on a profile or a Space page.

How to report

  1. Open the report action on the thing you are reporting.

  2. Choose a reason:

    Reason Use it for
Spam or scam Unwanted repetition, fraud
Harassment or bullying Targeting a person
Hate speech Attacks on a group
Sexual content Where it does not belong
Child sexual abuse or exploitation Anything involving a minor
    Violence or threats Threats, incitement
Suicide or self-harm Someone may be in danger
Illegal content Anything you believe is against the law
Something else When none of the above fits
  3. Add details — optional, and worth writing. A moderator sees what you saw only if you describe it.

  4. Submit.

Reporting is rate limited, so a burst of reports asks you to slow down. If you are reporting a co-ordinated campaign, one good report with details beats twenty thin ones.

What happens next

Your reason decides where the report goes, and you do not choose the destination:

  • Content inside a Space, in an everyday category goes to that Space's own moderators. They can dismiss it, warn, remove the content, restrict the member, or escalate it to Novagora.
  • A person, a whole Space, content outside any Space, content written by one of that Space's own moderators, or anything in a serious category goes to Novagora's own safety team — regardless of which Space it was in. A Space's moderators cannot overrule that and do not see those reports.

Serious reports open a safety case with its own process: the content is preserved as evidence, access to it may be restricted while the case runs, and the case is closed only when it is settled. Preserved evidence is not removed by the reported person deleting their content or their account.

You are notified about the outcome of what concerns you. You are not shown another person's moderation record.

While a report is open you can — and probably should — block or mute the account so you do not have to wait to stop seeing them.

If you are the one reported

You are told when content of yours is removed by a moderator, or when a restriction, timeout, or removal is applied to your membership. You are not told who reported you.

A Space's decision applies to that Space; to dispute it, use the Contact page. A platform decision applies to your account and is listed under Settings → Account standing, where Request review asks for it to be looked at again.

Emergencies

Novagora is not an emergency service. If somebody is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Then report it here, so the content can be preserved and acted on.

Contact support

To tell us something is broken, ask for a feature, or say something general, open the account menu on the web or the Help screen in the mobile app and choose Send feedback. Pick what it is about, describe it, and attach a screenshot if a picture says it faster — the screenshot is readable by you and by the people answering, and by nobody else.

An answer arrives as a message in your Novagora conversation, alongside the rest of your chats, and you are notified that it did — under the Feedback category, so you can turn its push off without touching anything else. You cannot reply in that conversation; send another piece of feedback if there is more to say.

For anything neither a report nor feedback covers — account problems, billing, a legal notice, a data-protection request, an accessibility problem — the support address and a contact form with a topic for each are on the Contact page.

The Community Guidelines and the other legal documents say what is and is not allowed.
