Invites and invite links
Creating a link anyone can join with, inviting someone directly, and what makes an invite stop working.
There are two ways to bring somebody into a Space: mint a link anyone holding it can join with, or send a direct invite to one person.
Who can invite
Admins and the owner set a Minimum level to invite in the Space's settings: Member, Moderator, or Admin, and Admin unless they change it. Anyone at or above that level can create invites, unless a restriction, a timeout, or rules they still have to re-accept hold them back. Seeing and managing all of a Space's invite links is an Admin power; below that you can revoke a link you created while it is shown to you.
Create an invite link
- Open Invites in the Space.
- Choose Joins as — the level someone arrives at. You cannot grant a level above your own, and never above Admin.
- Choose Expires — 1 day, 7 days, or 30 days. Links expire after at most 30 days.
- Optionally set Max uses. Leave it blank for unlimited, up to 10,000.
- Create link, then copy it.
Copy the link when it is shown. Admins can copy any active link again later from Active links; below Admin the link is shown only when you create it. Rotate issues a new URL for the same invite and kills the old one — which is how you deal with a link that leaked. The link keeps its name and its use count, so its Max uses still holds. Edit changes a live link's expiry and max uses later.
Revoke ends a link outright. It is confirmed first, and the link stops working immediately.
Active links, which only Admins see, shows each link's level, uses, uses left, and time left.
Named links and link stats
On a Space with Ultra — the owner's plan or the Space's own — you can give an invite link a Name, such as Instagram bio or Newsletter, and rename it later. Names are unique among a Space's live links, up to 60 characters, and a Space can have up to 100 named links live at once.
Link stats, next to the links, shows for each named link over the last 7, 30, or 90 days:
- Link views — how often the invite page was opened. Views are approximate: repeat visits within a short time, link previews and bots don't count.
- Signed up via link — people who created their account after opening it.
- Joined, split into New to Novagora and Already on Novagora.
- Conversion — joins as a share of views.
Stats are counts only; they never show who opened a link or who joined through it. If the plan ends, names stay visible and the links keep working, but stats and new names wait until Ultra is back. Nothing recorded is lost.
Invite someone directly
Search for the person by name or username, choose the level they arrive at, and send. They see it under their own Invites, alongside any others, and can accept or decline.
Sent invites are listed with their state:
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending | Waiting for an answer |
| Accepted | They joined |
| Expired | They declined it — a direct invite has no expiry of its own |
| Temporarily unavailable | Something about the sender currently blocks it |
Accepting an invite
Open the invite, from your Invites or from the link. If the Space has rules, read them — accepting the invite accepts the rules, and the button says so.
You may be told the invite is temporarily unavailable. An invite carries only the authority its sender holds now, so it stops working while the sender has left the Space, been restricted, been put in a timeout, or has rules of their own to re-accept. It works again once that clears. You can decline it now or Check again later.
Other things you may see: you are already a member, so there is nothing to accept; or This invite link has ended — it was revoked, replaced, expired, or used up. Ask whoever shared it for a new one.
Declining is final for that invitation, and tells nobody why.
Requests instead of invites
In a request-to-join Space, people can ask to join without an invitation. Those land in the Space's Join requests queue rather than here; see Managing members.
